West Wind supports educators and leaders to grow their Equity Agency℠ and Systemic Equity Leadership℠ capacity through programming that is grounded in examining our core values and our mental models about people who have been marginalized, with a focus on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students.
Equity Instructional Rounds
West Wind's Equity Instructional Rounds are professional development and information-gathering events designed to identify patterns across classrooms and buildings. Rounds engage teachers, staff, administrators, and students in a facilitated process to explore the strengths and challenges in their learning environments and plan together for continuous improvement.
Professional & Leadership Development
West Wind offers leadership development and coaching for teachers, teacher leaders, staff, administrators, school boards, and others. We provide targeted professional development, coaching, and consultations to district-level school leaders and staff, focused on understanding and incorporating equitable practices into regular team functions, policies, and practices.
Safe & Inclusive Learning Environments
West Wind supports districts to create and sustain safe and inclusive learning environments where students, educators, staff, leaders, and families feel safe to learn and that they belong as integral parts of the learning community. We center out work on research- and evidence-based approaches and tailor our services to local needs and expereinces.
Policy Analysis
West Wind Education Policy Inc. analyzes federal, state, and local education policies to determine the likelihood they will meet policymaker goals, support learning and teaching for all children, and promote positive organizational change. West Wind looks at the success of past and present policy initiatives, forecasts future trends, and assists in the development of new education policies and reforms.
Knowledge Buidling
West Wind Education Policy Inc. offers a full menu of services to support client goals ranging from awareness-building to promoting organizational results. We regularly design programs for seminars, conferences, and institutes, as well as create original training materials and trainings, professional development plans, and job performance aids.
