Racial Equity Courses for Teachers and Administrators

Our racial equity courses will help teachers and administrators to address racial justice. We can tailor our courses to meet your needs.

We provide teacher and administrator license renewal credits for these courses. If you do not wish to receive a certificate for these courses, you can save the license renewal fee. 

If you work outside the state of Iowa, we are happy to share the syllabus so you can get approval for relicensure in your location.

Growing Culturally Sustaining Practices and Equity Agency

Teachers, Teacher Leaders, and Administrators

Participants in this course will grow their Equity Agency℠, learning about culturally sustaining teaching practices and deepening their capacity to have conversations about race with other adults. The course addresses onsite, hybrid, and virtual teaching environments.

Uncovering and Overcoming Implicit Bias

Teachers, Teacher Leaders, and Administrators

Participants will learn about implicit racial bias as a set of cognitive process situated in a historical context, identify how implicit biases can play out in schooling, and practice strategies to overcome the influence of implicit bias. The course addresses onsite, hybrid, and virtual teaching environments.

Systemic Equity Leadership 

Teacher Leaders and Administrators

The course will focus on growing Equity Agency℠, the ability to engage in equitable practices and to create equitable environments, and Systemic Equity Leadership℠, the ability to lead, facilitate, and coach others to make changes that result in more equitable outcomes and experiences for all.

Equity for English Language Learners 

Teachers, Teacher Leaders, and Administrators

Participants better understand how to support Emergent Bilingual Students, otherwise known as English language learners. Participants will identify and develop culturally and linguistically responsive teaching practices and teams will develop plans for supporting one another and their students over time.
